You know, there is something about Bode Miller that reminds me of skiing, party times, determination and attitude.  Oh yah, now I remember.  He fits the profile of a true RAIDER.

If I didn’t know that it is 2006 I would almost believe I returned to the 70’s and just met one of our National Ski Patrol guys.

This is the kind of skier that we should all be proud of.  He represents everything a RAIDER stands for.

GO BODE.

LOL, that was our initiation for the new ski patrollers in GAP! 1/2 a dixie cup of Stroh's, drink it without stopping! I remember when Bruce Raymond had to do his, he puked out the window and his false teeth came out and shattered 3 stories below!

Good question............just where does one look?

I wish I could help you but don't have any answers.  I know of only one that used to know (Gisela Gunther - Frankfurt) is more than likely long gone to the big entertainment center.

Google is the greatest “tool” other than this web-site.

What when they started shutting down places like Berchtesgaden, Chiemsee, McGraw Kaserne, etc.  I wonder if AFRC kept a history file?  I have asked around USAREUR and they have nothing.  I was interested in getting “footage” of the old AFRC 16mm films that were sent to the field locations (i.e. Graf, Hornsfield, Baumholder, etc.).  They don't have a clue.

Maybe some of our  RAIDER “readers” can help.

One of  the  more  entertaining  persons in Berchtesgaden  was Dave Nicol an MP, as  he  was a magican.  Everytime  he  walked  down the strasse he  turned  into a  gasthaus.

Ouch!!  I remember 'the next day' on the Hausberg, after the ski patrol initiation party which was held in the Air Force digs where Rick and Brad lived.  [76 or 77 maybe?]  I'd managed to stay away from the Stroh's Rum all night, and the next morning I went skiing as usual.  After a run or two, the major hangover and occasional conversations with the porcelain god took over from the skiing and I found myself in the Garmischer Haus, wishing that someone would just steal my skis so I could go home.  I mean, it just didn't add up... I could hold more than a few beers, after all....  finally around lunchtime a ski patroller copped to the fact that they were 'priming' all the beer cups with a shot of tequila before pouring the beer into them....  guess they wanted to be sure everyone would get good 'n drunk.

James

I am trying to locate the names of some of the entertainers/acts that performed in the Berchtesgaden/Garmish area in the early to mid 1960's, can you give me any ideas on how to search for this.  I have been on Google for days with different combinations of wording to find what I am looking for but have not found anything.  Any help would be wonderful.
