Time marches on and our memories remain.  Here is the count so far and what seems to have caused this:

  THE ALPINE INN

Torn down in order to build housing for seniors.

Torn down to make way for a new Environmental Center.

   AFRC HQ's BRA

Offices and housing for locals.

  Torn down for parking lot.

Billeting and Bowling near Bahnhoff

  Youth Club Open 24/7

Gutshof1now.jpg (77463 bytes)

The Skytop............no a private Golf Club.

Evergreen Lodge....................presently empty.

This lodge has a lot of potential.  Interested groups, like the gang from the AFRCski could purchase this as a corporation.  It has a large open room with a fireplace, dining area, small bar and kitchen.  Downstairs (basement) has two rooms with bathrooms and a full kitchen.  Upper level has two suites and two singles with bathrooms.

The lodge could be used by any AFRC’ers and even be leased to groups.

Just a thought………………………….

Some of the photos are copies from the web.  I have searched high and low for any information or photos about the Bellview in Berchtesgaden and Columbia Hotel in Munich.

The Columbia Hotel in Munich was on Jagdstrasse just around the corner from Rotkreuzplatz I think. I don't have any pictures of it and couldn't find any pictures of it on line but I do have a number of fond memories from the few times I spent there.

Wow, Jim, that is a GREAT idea! Wouldn't that be fun to be able to purchase that building.

I got married in the Alpine Inn Chapel in 1989...should have known that it was a bad omen when it was torn down as so crumbled my marriage....but that's actually a good thing! Seem to have my sense of humor back today.
