It's pretty much a weekend thing. Some people golf, some people hike... Everybody eats and drinks and hangs out. The town beach has a concert on Thursday nites, so anyone who comes in early can take that in. Lake Placid is 12 miles away, if anyone wants to see the Olympic venues. The Whiteface Gondola operates in the summer for seeing views. Not sure of the cost of that. The hike i have planned is about a 2 hour 1 way (done with 2 cars, makes it easy) and has fabulous views at several different rock ledges. Tent space available, first reserved, first saved. WE can handle 6-8 tents, depending on size. Or a great B&B The Willkommen Hof for a bit more comfort.

Hello all you East Coast Raiders! This year the summer Ost Coast Reunion will be held during the weekend of August 4th at my family retreat in the Adirondacks near Lake Placid. Situated on the side of the mountain directly across the valley from Whiteface, we have a spectacular view. Also planned are golfing

Our house is 2 hours North of Albany, so I guess from West Point to ALB is about 2 hours, so make it a 4+ hour drive. It sure would be great to have you join us! From Fingerlakes, prbably about 6 hour drive. Find Lake Placid on the map, then go East by 12 miles, and that's where Whiteface/Wilmington is.

Hi Sunshine, just 2 hours from Albany, not too far, I live right underneath the Petersburgh pass about 35 miles from there. Is this a day thing or night? How is life, long time since we saw each other, I think 32 years ago, but what with all the talk of the 67 wars anniversary, I couldnt help but think of our time in the 73 war on the kibbutz with Donald Duff!
