T-Stock and Company are ripping up the slopes at Flachau that so many of us knew once upon a time.
From a lot of work on T-stocks part they are back where so many of us talk about going but few of us, myself included, seem to make it there.
Once we just took it for granted that if we wanted go ski we would that day and we enjoyed every day.
These days I get up to Snoqualmie Pass and feel nostalgia about the time when I lived in the mountains insted of just driving up with a bus load of kids so they can get in a little night skiing.
Last Friday it was about 10degrees above zero with 20-30 mile an hour winds making it so cold that we had the buses running just about every minute.
It reminded me of once when I was skiing at Stienplatte and it was so cold that even with a bandana, stocking cap and the hood on my ski jacket, after just one run I was so cold that my forehead hurt and I ducked into one of the gasthouses on the slope for a while. I seem to recall that Mike Ike joined me and we drank more then a little, but it was a day off so I wasn't driving which was good, I was so wiped that skiing the mogul field at the top made sense. If you know me that was never a good idea but I did it and was amazed that I did it without busting any of my parts. when I was more sober i decided that once was enough and I don't believe I ever did that again.
Skiing Flachau was always a good day and T-Stock and company will have a week of good days while the rest of us sit looking at computer screens thinking about the good 'ol days while T-stock on the gang are making memories of the new good old days.
In case you need to have your memory jogged.
