It was about 16 years ago that I came back to the states and settled in Seattle.
It was the about the the third winter, about 13 years ago , that I went to Leavenworth Washington with a shool teacher that I was dating for a week-emd in a "Bavarian Village". We did the horse drawn sleigh-ride and the romantic dinners and the endless window shopping around town.
The last day that we were there we decided to go up stairs to a cafe and shop that we had not been into yet.
There at the top of the steps was someone that seemed very familar. Damned if that lady didn't just like Dave's wife, Bobby. I looked and she looked and then she she said, "What, Joe Pritchard, you wouldn't give a friend a hug? And of course we had to hug in start a machine gun speed of what are you doing here, who have you talked to and who have you kept in touch with.
Bobby was visiting her sister that lived on Vashon Island just across the water from Seattle. when i told her that I was living in Seattle she couldn't believe it.

Well, yesterday I was up in Leavenworth again. This time with afew people from the Seattle International Club, the Seattle Stammtisch and we went to Andreas Keller, the family comes from Staubing just outside of MUNICH and the food reflects that.
The group I was with had lunch and as we came up the stairs some of the group ran across friends that they had not expected to see and as I announced "You have to keep an eye on those people." I looked down at these two little ladies in front of meand they looked up. I was again looking at Bobby and her sister, 13 years later just about 200 feet from where I had seen her the last time.
And there was Bobby?!
I often tel the stary about the chance meeting with her the first time I came to Leavenworth. Back then I thought her and Dave were still in Berchtesgaden and they thought that I was still at Bad Aibling. All of us had moved on.
Yesterday Bobby's sister kept asking, "Is this really the same guy that you met here the last time.?
I went right back into the Andeas Keller for another tea with Bobby and her sister.
I just couldn't believe it! But then niether could anybody else!
None of the people I was with could believe that twice I had accidentaly met Booby again in Leavenworth of all places.
What are the odds of Me from Seattle being in Leavenworth, on the far side of the Cascades at the same spot and at the same time, that a friend of mine from the days in Bavaria, is visiting when she is again living in Bavaria?
Now that is a math problem for a teacher to give the kids.
