Hi Christine, Im not sure I kinow you but I knew Burt very well, & I ran into his wife in 1981 in Greenwich Village, & she said Burt was in Utah, I think, & she was teaching high school in Yonkers, which is just north of NYC. I talk to Steve & Rita Dwight regularly, & Bob Borzellino, & apart from bumping into Bomber & Goldie & Deutsche Mark a number of times in Asia, I havent seen any others from Garmisch except, Diana Murphy for years,

best wishes,

Drew (Andy) Failes

Hey (Andy)Drew, you bumped into ME on a street in Varanasi in spring of '83 too...  I think my travel companions and I were sitting in a cafe, watching a cow trying to eat a piece of cloth and wondering about being 'that hungry'.   What's Diana up to?  I remember she came back to GAP in the 80s after marrying a frenchman (?).   Ever hear from or about Dave Weinstein?

Hi Sue, Yes I remember it well, when I was buying all these scarves in Varanasi, a place I went to every year from 79 till 2000. I am not in the scarf business anymore but I will probably go back later this year just for a swim in the Ganga. Diana married GiGi(JeanJacques) after meeting him in Korea, & is living just outside of  Lyons. Rachel & I have visited them a few times there, great place, & Diana is a fantastic cook. They have two kids, GiGi works for Cathay Pacific & runs their office there. Did you check out my website? www.potalaworld.com  Where are you? What are you up to? I had to go to the Emergency room at the local hospital this morning because I had become so dehydrated with this fever that I passed out last night! I feel better now but I have to get it together fast as we are going to Morrocco on Sunday.

Take care,

Drew

Hey You Guys!  Christine Windsor here... Garmisch Mail Lady '77-79.  I'm trying to find Susie Norman... Stormin' Norman, World Class Kayaker that didn't know how to swim.  If anyone knows anything... please email me... j_christine_windsor@yahoo.com.  Also anyone knowing the whereabouts of Carol Mason who worked at the Russian Institute same time; or Greg Julien and Burt Black who were in the adjutant's office with me, would love to hear from you.  Or just anyone who was there during that time, drop me a hello!  Hope everyone is well!

Hey Christine,

I think I remember you.  I do remember Carol Mason but haven't seen her since we left GAP in 1979.  I was the Rec Director from 77-79  in GAP.  Pete Dascoulias and his wife Donna and my wife Donna and I climbed the Zugspitze in 78.  My wife Donna worked for the Garmisch rec department and organized a couple climbs for the community.  What a great experience.  I'm still “in the business' running country clubs in the midwest.  Joe Garves
