My name is Marc Ritter, grew up in Garmisch, helped the band Hence Cadence as a "roadie" in 83-85. Today, I am an author (visit www.marcritter.de) and I am planning on making a documentary about the Hippie Bar in those times.

I would like to ask you if you could provide me with pictures and names and whereabouts of people working there, partying there - of course I do have the contact adresses of the former band members - I would be interested in guests and staff.

Your help is highly appreciated!

Thanks, Marc

Marc, most of the folks registered on this website were AFRC folks from the early to mid 70's and most of us are unfamilier with 'The Hippie Bar' as such. There are several AFRC variations on facebook and it might prove to be a better search vehicle for your need.
But you should just come to one of our reunion to see what we were doing before the 80's; because we are still doing it now!

I remember the "Hippie Bar" as a nickname given by SFC Loure, trying to keep his Miliary Rec aids out of there. Didn't work, meanwhile CPT. Parker T. Bradley did manage to make it the place to be. Put a big dent in the International Grill income stream for a while. I think we evem lost a senior officer over the cost of the project,,, but that could have just be a rumor. I do know we were taken over by 7th corp shortly thereafter, after being a USAEUR unit for many years. Wish I could remeber the german name for the place seems like Bier Stubbe but hat was many years ago.
