OK............time to put on the THINKING CAPS again.

Who of you remember (1973 - 1974) Major Mattie Parker?

Was wondering about her after trying to place faces with names.

She worked at the Stanggass and lived in a small apartment behind the MP Station in the SUPPACT BOQ's.

That's Mattie V. Parker, and she got promoted to LTC in the summer of '73. I was her direct report until she got promoted by Col Meyers. (Then, I reported to a new Major, Major Harrell.) I've totally lost touch with her. Have you had any contact? LARRY

Larry..

In Sept of 1072, Major Burke Harrell was my Battalion Commander in Frankfurt, while I was at S-2, at the FARPAC in Hoerst -- CPT Thompson was my Company Commander. When I was appointed to the patrol I had one responsiblilty and that was to report to Harrell.

Apparently Thompson and Lt Allbright went to West Point (USMA) together back then... and  while I was TDY in Berchtesgaden 72-74... I was suppose to keep Harrell abreast of all the stuff happening at AFRC. (Hell they even offered me a bonus to stay in the military and join him in Garmisch as his NCOIC back then...I didn't --and considering where I am now I should've stayed in.

I don't suppose you might know what and where he (Burke Harrell) went after Garmisch. I know Harrell  made LTC., and Thompson was rifted....I understand Thompson is somewhere in the mid-west?? But I would be really happy to drop him a line.

Thanks,

Bill

James,

Yes, I remember Mattie parker well.

Sorry for the late reply. I just found the AFRC web site. I was a ski instructor, Hausberg manager and golf course manager at AFRC Garmisch between 72-78. I also reported to Mattie Parker until she moved to B' Garden.
I married an AFRC Ski Instructor, Laurie Nevin.

I met Matti for Dinner at Ft. Sheridan, IL. North of Chicago (Great Lakes Naval Station) after she left AFRC.
I lost touch with her but had contact with Burke Harrell in Park City UT and skied with him there.

I posted a picture yesterday of Mattie Parker, Burke and me taken at a Ski Instructors party circa '73
