Welcome to the AFRC TIMELINE cybermall.

If you have anything to add to the AFRC area you are welcome.  We already have a few UK'ers that lived, worked, partied, drank, snorted, and a few other unmentionable things in Garmisch, Chiemsee or Berchtesgaden.  The door is always open.

Let us know what you did, when you did it, to whom you did it.................you know, your life and times with the AFRC.

What part of the UK are you from and where were you in Europe back in the "good-ol-days"?

Hi Guys, quick question - is this TIMELINE site just for 'military memories' or can us old Limey civilians join in? Could go back to my old attic bound diaries and submit stuff from end of'79 thru til '85. My personnal E-mail is  freewheelintp@btconnect.com if you want to contact me. Looking forward to hearing from you. Roger B. (Animal!!!)

With the recent changes within the Department of Defense government computers have been modified as to the information allowed to pass via email.  This also applies to all the service branches as well.

The ones most affected are our comrades serving in the Gulf.  They, like most all of us that work for Uncle, can no longer receive mail with photos attached.  Likewise they can no longer email with photos attached.  Their love ones will have to find a new way to email any photos to them.

Even as a retiree I can not access email via AAFEES or any other military site.  It is blocked by a firewall.  Even the government doesn't trust its own branches.

In case you wish to email any photos from your years with AFRC then please do so by sending them to my private email address.  Mail to: jcarey0423@yahoo.com

I can still be reached (for the time) at my DoD email.  james.carey@dfas.mil

Anyone out there reading this and they want to be posted to THE AFRC TIMELINE now is the time to write your story.  Send it to me or Mark Sheldon to be posted in the folder year that you arrived at AFRC.  We are still searching for new data.  Within a few years a lot of us will not be around, but our story will live on in this site.

Our oldest member of the RAIDERS is a young man that goes by the name William Eckert (wne@wi.rr.com).  He was one of the BAND OF BROTHERS” that happened to be assigned in Berchtesgaden back in 1945..

If you, or anyone you know of, ever spent time on assignment, TDY, or visited AFRC Berchtesgaden, Chiemsee, Garmisch or the Columbia Hotel in Munich please get your comments to us as soon as possible.  There are many years we are missing and many of you out there could help fill those empty folders.

Here is a list of the missing years:

       1947, 1948, 1949, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1957, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1968, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003,2005, 2006, 2007.

Now let's all pitch in and see if any of your friends have just forgotten to send in their story.  If you know of anyone in Garmisch, working for the Edelweiss...........you are part of this story as well.  You are the new “young blood” that can help paint this picture that some day will be seen by all.

THE AFRC TIMELINE web site has become recognized by Wikipedia.    We have been posted by Wikipedia in their EXTERNAL LINKS.   As the years go by we will become part of history that everyone can read.  Who knows...........we might just become someone’s report for school or collage.
