Hi Bob,

Yep, she lived in Ramsau with her mom at the time. Now the huge question is is she still there, and is anyone out there in a position to contact her? Thanks AFRC .

Thanks Jim. It means a lot to know he was liked by his peers. I thought he was a great dad and owe him so much for the opportunities to experience new places and to have been my best friend during the best days of my life. Take care.

TIM,

VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR DAD'S PASSING. HE WAS A GREAT GUY AND I KNEW HIM WELL DURING MY STINT FROM 75--79. I'M SURE ANYONE STATIONED/WORKING THERE AT THE TIME WILL REMEMBER HIM WITH GREAT FONDNESS AND HIS PASSING WITH SADNESS.

Hello,

If anyone knew my dad, I wanted to let them know that he passed away Tuesday, Sept 25th.  He was stationed in Berchtesgaden and worked out of Stangass.  I lived with him for a time as you can tell by my entry into the 1975-76 timeline.  I'll miss him dearly and though if anyone out there knew him, I'd pass on this info.

Both my wife and I are sorry to hear about your loss.

The one thing I remember most about your father was that he was a really great guy.  You could always rely on him.

He was Ken Jordan’s replacement at the SUPPACT and the Station Commander was Major Fox.

Hope he is relaxing in the great ski resort we all hope to go to in the future.

Thanks Doc. I think everyone who was part of our lives in bercftesgaden was great. Those were the best times and I  will always look back on them as the very best times of my life. And everyone there contributed to making Berchtesgaden what it was.....a kind of Heaven on Earth.

And while I'm writing, I have a question for those out there that still travel back and forth and have family in Berchtesgaden.  My dad had a secretary named Emmy Longthaler.  Is there anyone out there that would know her and of her whereabouts? This has been a needle in the haystack cause but what the heck. Crazier things have happened.   Take care all.

Hello all,

I wanted to include a link to my dad's online  memorial guestbook:

Feel free to make a comment, share a memory, or just sign your name. I plan on purchasing this book at the time it expires which is on November 3. The times at AFRC were great and I wanted to include them in this memorial. Thanks

Sorry for your loss.  I don't know if this will help, (it has been 21 years) but in 1986, Emmy opened a gift shop in Ramsau.  I believe that is where she lived.  I used to date a gal who worked with Emmy.

Yes I knew your dad back then. Sorry to hear of him passing. What a shame. He actually helped me get out trouble with the Polizi in 1975, for a minor offense... nice guy.

Good luck,

Bill Sutherland
