To all you maniacs that spent new Years Eve at the Grill in the mid 70s, a glorious Happy New year. Except Brian McGlaughlin who was a wee nuisance,  & if he hadnt been the bartender would probably have been barred!. To all the waitresses, Jeannie, Michelle, & the rest, & to Frank who was a great bartender, & to me who was chief glasswasher in between the various trips outside to look at the ahem, stars, All the Best for 2008.

Hi Paul, Yes I was the actual glasswasher in 74, & I remember Big Pete very well. Brian McGlaughlin regularly jumped over the bar & punched somebody, he was a real hothead, & working with him & Big Fred was no picnic, so much nicer when Frank was there as the bartender. Then there was Paul Barber who bartended occasionally, former gun runner to Cuba & of various other nefarious pastimes. Sgt. Turnell ran the place if you want to stretch it that far, though he was a nice bloke, but not quite the flair or style of Charlie Henderson. Then there was the German guy who complained of the noise & eventually that signalled the death knell for all those wonderful bands that rocked the joint. Great Place.

Andy, GREAT POST!
Man, was Christmas and New Years a blast every year in Germany, or what? I think I was at the Grill for New Years in '74. Of course, there are many things I think I did in Germany back in the day that I can't always be sure of the truth!
Happy birthday today to Big Pete Simpson (GAP 72-76) and John (Judy Blue Eyes) Bratlie (BRA 73-75). I think it is also Peter McDonough's birthday as well.
