Andy, GREAT POST!
Man, was Christmas and New Years a blast every year in Germany, or what? I think I was at the Grill for New Years in '74. Of course, there are many things I think I did in Germany back in the day that I can't always be sure of the truth!
Happy birthday today to Big Pete Simpson (GAP 72-76) and John (Judy Blue Eyes) Bratlie (BRA 73-75). I think it is also Peter McDonough's birthday as well.

Hi Paul, Yes I was the actual glasswasher in 74, & I remember Big Pete very well. Brian McGlaughlin regularly jumped over the bar & punched somebody, he was a real hothead, & working with him & Big Fred was no picnic, so much nicer when Frank was there as the bartender. Then there was Paul Barber who bartended occasionally, former gun runner to Cuba & of various other nefarious pastimes. Sgt. Turnell ran the place if you want to stretch it that far, though he was a nice bloke, but not quite the flair or style of Charlie Henderson. Then there was the German guy who complained of the noise & eventually that signalled the death knell for all those wonderful bands that rocked the joint. Great Place.

To all you maniacs that spent new Years Eve at the Grill in the mid 70s, a glorious Happy New year. Except Brian McGlaughlin who was a wee nuisance, & if he hadnt been the bartender would probably have been barred!. To all the waitresses, Jeannie, Michelle, & the rest, & to Frank who was a great bartender, & to me who was chief glasswasher in between the various trips outside to look at the ahem, stars, All the Best for @))*.
