Of all the buildings standing after WWII the Berchtesgadener Hof was the most beautiful. In Europe most every city has buildings with history. The Hof was one such building.
It was not the Hof that caused problems during and after the war. Many things in Germany remained and have been rebuilt for further use. Good example of that is the Reichstag. Of any building with a history, such as WWII, it has been rebuilt and now is the most important place in Germany.
Just outside Ulm the church where Napoleon slept still remains. It has not been torn down. As a matter of fact they relocated the road back in the late 1960's in order to preserve the church.
I bet the Soviet War Memorial (Treptower Park) in Berlin will not be moved, plowed under or hidden from the world. You can tear-down buildings, cover areas with dirt but you can't bury the past. With all this in mind could the Rasthaus am Chiemsee not be far behind?
